Show Summary
One man, perfect life, one accident and everything changes. In a few words if I have to describe the story of ‘The Dead Zone’ then, this is it.
This science fiction basically revolves around the life of Johnny Smith, who was leading a peaceful life in a small town. Everything just seemed perfect in his life. Johnny was happily employed as a science teacher; he used to love spending time with his students and took pleasure in showing his young students the wonders of the natural world. Besides his professional life his personal life too was running smooth. He had a widowed mother who lived near by his home and he was the most loving son any mother could have ever had. In addition to all this, he was in love and had recently got engaged to the love of his life, Sarah, a fellow teacher he’s known since his childhood. What more could one wish for in life. But only then, Johnny met with an accident that left him in a deep coma and with this, his happy, perfect life came to an end.

After a long gap of six years Johnny regains his consciousness, only to realize that everything has changed in these past six years and his perfect life is no more perfect. His mother passed away and the woman he loved has married some one else. This is not all; he then comes to know the child she and her husband are now raising is his and Sarah’s son. Apart from all these changes there is one major change that he feels after his near death experience and must get accustomed to, if he wants to live his life peacefully. After recovering from coma, he now finds himself in possession of amazing psychic powers which allows him to see into the lives of anyone he touches. He, then, with his amazing power is able to save lives of many people. He starts his new life by saving the life of a nurse’s daughter, before he leaves the hospital.
Now that he is out of the hospital he must try and get used to his natural life along with his new abilities that has now become a part of his life. The people who help him to cope up with those missing six years of his life and who make him comfortable in the present are his physical trainer Bruce, who also becomes a close friend. His mother’s priest, Gene Purdy, who on an outer level, tries to help him but, he might just have some personal reasons for doing so. The third person and the most important one who helps him is, the woman from her past, Sarah. Sarah really wants to help Johnny but she must also take care that any point she should not spoil her relationship with her husband and son.
Nothing seems easy at this point, but they all must find a way of coming up with a perfect way of dealing with things, especially when the situation is so complex.
